Fokker S-14 Machtrainer

Here are the histories of the 21 airframes built.

This is a work in progress and any help would be appreciated. Information on these planes is rather difficult to locate online and this work will remain incomplete unless you the readers offer to help me. Please feel free to pass along any information that you might have.

K-1 prototype (c/n 6289)
*Never officially delivered to the Dutch AF, remained with the Fokker Company as PH-NDY.
*5/19/1951: First flight.
*1956: Withdrawn from use.
*1960-66: Bailed to NLL/NLR and registered as PH-XIV.
*Was preserved at the old Aviodome at Schiphol APT.
*Currently preserved at the new Aviodrome at Lelystad APT.


L-1 (c/n 7346)
*1/15/1955: First flight.
*8/12/1955: Delivered to the Dutch AF.
*5/15/1962: Withdrawn from use.
*Was preserved at the gate of Twenthe AB.
*1965: Salvaged at Twenthe AB.


L-2 (c/n 7347)
*8/12/1955: Delivered to the Dutch AF.
*5/24/1963: Withdrawn from use.
*8/1963: Salvaged at Soesterberg AB.


L-3 (c/n 7348)
*8/31/1955: Delivered to the Dutch AF.
*7/17/1963: Withdrawn from use.
*8/1963: Salvaged at Soesterberg AB.


L-4 (c/n 7349)
*10/20/1955: Spun out and crashed near Hagerstown, MD during a demonstration flight. Pilot was killed.


L-5 (c/n 7350)
*10/9/1955: Delivered to the Dutch AF.
*7/9/1962: Written off.
*1962: Used for firefighting practice at Twenthe AB.
*11/1962: Salvaged.


L-6 (c/n 7351)
*10/24/1955: Delivered to the Dutch AF.
*1955-56: Sent on a demonstration tour of America (replacing the lost L-4).
*9/9/1963: Withdrawn from use.
*1963: Salvaged at Soesterberg AB.


L-7 (c/n 7352)
*10/25/1955: Delivered to the Dutch AF.
*5/28/1964: Crashed into a dyke near Heenvliet, Zeeland due to pilot error. Both crewmen were killed.


L-8 (c/n 7353)
*12/31/1955: Delivered to the Dutch AF.
*3/28/1963: Withdrawn from use.
*1963: Used for firefighting practice at Soesterberg AB.
*4/1963: Salvaged.


L-9 (c/n 7354)
*1/17/1955: Delivered to the Dutch AF.
*7/7/1964: Withdrawn from use.
*1/1965: Salvaged at DVM.
*2/1965: Wreck burnt up at the Luchtmacht Electronische and Technische School.


L-10 (c/n 7355)
*12/30/1955: Delivered to the Dutch AF.
*10/17/1963: Withdrawn from use.
*1964: Salvaged at Soesterberg AB.
*Wreck sent to Twenthe AB?


L-11 (c/n 7356)

*6/11/1956: Delivered to the Dutch AF.
*1/7/1965: Withdrawn from use.
*2/1965: Salvaged at DVM.

L-14 (c/n 7359)
*11/14/1956: Delivered to the Dutch AF.
*5/19/1965: Withdrawn from use.
*7/9/1965: Donated to the Van Weerden Poelman Air Scouts.
*Was preserved at Ypenburg, falsely marked as ASL-37 and L-37.
*Was preserved at HTS Haarlem, falsely marked as L-20.
*Was preserved at the Luchtmacht Electronische and Technische School, falsely marked as L-37.
*2/1976: Sent to Deelen AB for firefighting practice.
*Salvaged.


L-15 (c/n 7360)
*11/14/1956: Delivered to the Dutch AF.
*1/7/1965: Withdrawn from use.
*2/1965: Salvaged.
*Wreck burnt up at the Luchtmacht Electronische and Technische School.


L-16 (c/n 7361)
*11/14/1956: Delivered to the Dutch AF.

*Was preserved at DVM, falsely marked as 67-2-HB.

*9/5/1967: Struck off charge.

*Was preserved at the Rosmalen Autotron, registered as PH-SIY.
*Currently preserved at the KLu Historical Flight at Gilze-Rijen AB.


L-18 (c/n 7363)
*11/14/1956: Delivered to the Dutch AF.
*7/21/1966: Withdrawn from use.
*9/5/1967: Stuck off charge.
*Was preserved by the gate at the Fokker works in Ypenburg.
*1994: Salvaged at Den Dolder when the factory closed.


L-19 (c/n 7364)
*11/14/1956: Delivered to the Dutch AF.
*9/5/1967: Withdrawn from use.
*Was preserved at HTS Haarlem, gone before 1987. Where now?


L-20 (c/n 7365)
*11/14/1956: Delivered to the Dutch AF.
